How to Recover Partition?

How to Recover Partition?
About partition recovery
To learn partition recovery, we should first give you an exact
impression about partition. Generally, a disk is always been
divided into several parts, each part is called a partition. It is
very useful to divide hard disk into several partitions. Since
each partition will work like a separate disk drive, you can
use it for storing different categories of data without
confusion. If a hard disk only has one partition, once the
partition gets lost or is deleted accidently, the data on it will
be lost forever. However, if there is more than one partition
on the disk and one of them gets lost or is deleted, what you
lost is only the data on the lost partition; the data of other
partitions on the disk is still there. Moreover, even if you
have lost one or two partitions, you can still have them back
by recovery.
Partition Recovery is actually a method of recovering your
lost partitions that were accidentally deleted or damaged due
to hardware/software failure, virus attack or some other
unknown reasons, as long as they were not formatted /
overwritten to after deletion. And here we will show you how
to recover partition with Partition Recovery Wizard built in
AOMEI Partition Assistant, which may restore partitions that
were deleted a long time ago.
Once, one of my friends had suffered a lot from data loss. He
used to save all his private matter on partition D, including
photos, videos, music and things like that. One day, when he
starts his PC, he cannot find his partition D. He was so
disappointed that he began to recall what can be the cause
for this. He sought in his mind what he had done the day
before with his computer. After some brainstorm, something
caught his attention. It seemed that he accidently deleted his
D partition……It is too late to mourn, so he think about me
and told me that. With my suggestion, he successfully gets
back his lost partition with all his private data.
Before you do
In order to do this task correctly, you should download the
proper version of AOMEI Partition Assistant first.
To Recover deleted or lost partition
Step1. Run AOMEI Partition Assistant and select “ Partition
Recovery Wizard ” in the “Wizards”.
Step2. Choose the disk from which you want to recover the
accidentally deleted or lost partitions. And then click " Next "
to continue. (Disk 2 for example)
Step3. You will get two search modes in the pop-up window:
Fast search: it will scan the first sector of each partition on
the selected disk in order to find out the deleted or lost
partition quickly. (Recommended)
Full search: more in-depth search every sector of each
partition on the selected disk. And consequently, it needs
more time. You could choose this method when Fast Search
fails.
Choose whichever one you need and click “ Next ” to go to
next step.
Step4. Once the deleted/lost partitions are found, they will be
displayed in the list box, and highlight the partition which you
want to recover and click " Proceed " to continue.
Tips:
The partitions be found are listed in details. You can see
their special information: file system, capacity and flag
(primary or logical).
You can double click the partition to check the files to see
whether the partition is the one you want to recover. To do
this, you can also directly click “Explore files in this selected
partition” button after choosing the target partition.
You can select more than one partition by ticking in the box
which lies in front of each partition information and recover
them all in one time.
The final status after restoring can be seen in graphic bar.
The partition with blue cross is the partition you are going to
recover.
Step5. After that, the AOMEI Partition Assistant will give you
congratulations to notice you the lost/deleted partitions have
been recovered successfully. After that, you can see these
files in “My Computer”.
Note:
If you can’t find those deleted or lost partitions by using Fast
Search, try another way: Full Search.
This feature could only support recovering lost/deleted
partitions. If the partition has files, after the partition been
recovered, the files will also come back automatically. If you
want to recover files from formatted, corrupted partition, you
need to use data backup software.
The recovered partitions may have no drive letter. If so, you
could not see the partitions in "My Computer". In this
situation, please reboot computer and then launch AOMEI
Partition Assistant manually assign a drive letter to the
partition by right clicking the partition -> Advanced -> select
Change Drive Letter .
